The 10th “Ulaanbaatar Dialogue” International Conference is set to take place on June 5–6. The event is jointly organized on an annual basis by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia and the Institute for Strategic Studies. Since the 1980s, Mongolia has consistently pursued the establishment of a dialogue mechanism for Northeast Asia. In 2013, Mongolia proposed the “Ulaanbaatar Dialogue on Northeast Asian Security” initiative and has successfully hosted the international conference annually since 2014.
This year’s conference will be held under five main thematic sessions:
Challenges and Opportunities for Security in Northeast Asia
Multilateral Cooperation in Northeast Asia
Climate Change and Security Challenges
Regional Cooperation between Northeast and Central Asia
Energy Resilience and Climate Change Consistent with Mongolia’s fundamental principles of a peace-loving, open, independent, and multi-pillared foreign policy, this initiative has been held regularly over the years and has evolved into a traditional platform for dialogue on regional security issues, confidence-building, and the search for solutions through open and inclusive discussions.
