On 19 May 2026, the Institute for Strategic Studies hosted Ms. Ann Lattimore Price, granddaughter of the eminent American Mongolist Owen Lattimore, together with the organizers of the “Khutagt and Lattimore: Legacy Beyond Borders” project. The meeting was attended by Ms. Maggie Lindtooth, U.S.-based Director Ms. Davaasuren M., Resident Director of the American Center for Mongolian Studies; Ms. Uyangoo B., Executive Director of the Dilowa Khutagt Foundation; and ISS researchers.

During the visit, Ms. Ann Lattimore Price donated several of her grandfather’s and grandmother’s works to the Institute’s Owen Lattimore Library, and the delegation toured the library’s collections and facilities.

Owen Lattimore was a distinguished scholar who made internationally significant contributions to Mongolian history, culture, geopolitics, and anthropology, and who laid the foundations for the development of Mongolian Studies in the United States.

The meeting marked an important step in expanding scholarly cooperation, academic exchange, and cultural ties in the field of Mongolian Studies.
