The Institute for Strategic Studies has been organized geopolitical/geoeconomics roundtable discussion on 9 January 2024 in cooperation with FES Mongolia. The first discussion of the year led by Dr. Mendee, where the Dr. Marc Saxer, Director of FES Asia (Office for Regional Cooperation in Asia) delivered his expertise presentation on “Geopolitical competition and geoeconomic shocks in the Indo-Pacific region” to the audience. After an insightful keynote speech, the participants engaged enthusiastically in a debate about future challenges and opportunities with the panelists, Ms. Lakshmi Boojoo, Director Generale, Economic Policy and Competitivness Research Center, and Mr. Buyandelger Davaajantsan, Communication coordinator, American Center for Mongolian Studies – ACMS.

            The Institute for Strategic Studies of Mongolia and the Friedrich-Ebert Stiftung Mongolia jointly co-organizing round table discussion series under the “Mongolian Geopolitical Lab/National Foresight Lab” initiative since 2022. The Round table discussion series including a keynote lecture from well-respected leaders, subject matter experts followed by question-and-answer sessions, interactive group works to draft policy recommendations in order to enhance and develop young academics and leaders’ capability. As well as initiative brings opportunity to connect young academics, security practitioners, government officials and businesses for better understanding.
