On March 10, 2022, the Institute for Strategic Studies held a roundtable discussion on information, policies, measures, future prospects and obstacles to the “Billion Trees” national movement initiated by the President of Mongolia U.Khurelsukh. The participants to the roundtable discussion included representatives from relevant ministry and research organizations namely, Forest Policy and Planning Department of the Ministry of Environment and Tourism, the National University of Mongolia, and the Mongolian Academy of Sciences, as well as representatives from private sector, such as Erdenes Tavan Tolgoi JSC, Oyu Tolgoi JSC, and Mining Insight journal. The Advisor to the Prime Minister of Mongolia on Environment and Green Policy also attended the discussion and exchanged views on furthering the national movement.
