On 14th November, Mongolia celebrated the first day of the first winter month according to the lunar calendar and the 861st anniversary of the birth of the Great Chinggis Khaan, and the Day of National Pride of the Mongols. In honor of this national holiday, the National flag of Mongolia was raised on the central square of the capital city named after D. Sukhbaatar and the State Nine White Banners were honored. The President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa, Chairman of the State Great Khural Zandanshatar Gombojav, Prime Minister Oyun-Erdene Luvsannamsrai paid tribute to the statue of Great Chinggis Khaan.
The President of Mongolia awarded the supreme decoration of the Mongolian state, the order of Chinggis khaan to Morin Khuur Ensemble of Mongolia for preserving and promoting the Morin Khuur [Horsehead Fiddle], the musical sutra of the vigor of the Mongols, the twin strings to sing the Mongol wisdom and soul, for valuable contributions to the revival of the national conscience, culture and mentality, for consolidating and elevating Mongolia’s international reputation and for advancing the knowledge and appreciation of the cultural heritage and values of the Mongol nation worldwide.
