The Minister of State for the Armed Forces James Heappey is paying a working visit to Mongolia on September 28-29.
On September 28, the Minister of State for the Armed Forces of the United Kingdom, James Heappey, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom to Mongolia, Ms. Fiona Blyth, and other officials visited the Ministry of Defense and met with the Minister of Defense of Mongolia G. Saikhanbayar.
During the official meeting, Minister of Defense G. Saikhanbayar extended his gratitude to the Minister of State for the Armed Forces of the United Kingdom about the first historic visit on the eve of the 60th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Mongolia and the United Kingdom and highlighted importance of the visit for developing bilateral defense cooperation between two countries. The Minister also noted that defense cooperation between two countries diversifying in many aspects, expressed to develop future cooperation in field of UN Peacekeeping, professional military education, human resource capability building under the “Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of Mongolia and the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland on cooperation in the field of defense”.
The Minister of State for the Armed Forces James Heappey, expressed his high gratitude for his visit to Mongolia and clarified that he fully supports the initiatives of defense cooperation, and looking forward for further active cooperation in many fields.
