On the occasion of its 30th anniversary, the Institute for Strategic Studies announced an essay competition on “National Security Challenges” among university students in order to foster patriotic ideology among youth, to promote the concept of national security and to provide an opportunity to express their views on national security issues on March 1-31, 2022.
A total of 29 articles of undergraduate students from Mongolian universities including the National University of Mongolia, the University of Humanities, the Mongolian National University of Medical Sciences, the Mongolian University of Life Sciences, the National Intelligence Academy, the Mongolian National Defense University, and the University of Internal Affairs of Mongolia were submitted to the competition. The awards for the best essays selected after the two-stage selection process were presented during the Conference dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Institute for Strategic Studies on April 29, 2022.
Kh.Gunchin-Ish, a fourth-year student of the International Relations program of the National University of Mongolia, won the first place for his essay “Challenges of Mongolia’s national security external environment: Tensions between the three neighbors and the risks of a new cold war”. The second place was awarded to E.Khuslen, a third-year student of the National Intelligence Academy, for her essay “Issues related to identifying the 10th Bogd Jebtsundamba” and the third place was awarded to M.Nomungerel, a fourth-year student of the Mongolian National University of Medical Sciences for her essay “The most delicious medicine”. The selected essays will be published in the Strategic studies journal of the Institute to be made available to the public.
