On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and Japan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan Yoshimasa Hayashi pays an official visit to Mongolia between April 30th to May 2nd. Official talks were held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan Yoshimasa Hayashi and Foreign Minister B.Battsetseg. The two sides assessed the current state of Mongolia-Japan relations and exchanged views on future prospects, goals, and cooperation.

Minister B.Battsetseg emphasized the role of Japan as our “third neighbor” with common democratic values and expressed confidence the two countries will further strengthen the Strategic Partnership and promote further cooperation.

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Mongolia-Japan relations, Foreign Minister Yoshimasa Hayashi announced the year 2022 as the “Year of Friendship and Exchange between Mongolian and Japanese Children and Youth” and expressed his satisfaction with the solemn celebration throughout the year. The Government of Japan reaffirmed its commitment to further expanding and strengthening the developing strategic partnership with Mongolia.  

During the talks, the two sides exchanged views on upcoming high-level reciprocal visits and agreed to deepen the Mongolia-Japan Strategic Partnership in a wide range of areas.
