Mongolia observes 860th birthday of great Chinggis khaan, national pride day

The National Pride Day is being observed today in Mongolia, marking the 860th anniversary of the birth of Great Chinggis Khaan, which customarily falls on the first day of winter according to the Mongolian Lunar Calendar. The country is celebrating the National Pride Day as a public holiday for the tenth year. As a part of ceremony, a traditional ceremony of exalting the State Nine White Banners took place at the central square of Sukhbaatar. The State Nine White Banners, which are kept at the State Palace, were brought to the central square by the cavalcade of honor guards.
On the occasion of the 860th Anniversary of the birth of Chinggis Khaan, an awards ceremony to confer the Supreme Decoration of the Mongolian State, the Order of Chinggis Khaan was conducted. The presidential decree states that the Order of Chinggis Khaan is awarded to Dr. Jack Weatherford, an US researcher, in recognition of his valuable contribution to the development of Chinggis Khaan studies and to Academician Dr. Prof. Dorjgotov Dechingungaa for his significant contribution to the environmental and climate studies of the geography. At the beginning of his remarks delivered during the awards ceremony, President of Mongolia U. Khurelsukh extended greetings on the occasion of the National Pride Day and the 860th anniversary of the birth of Chinggis Khaan. “The history of Chinggis Khaan is not only the history of Mongols, but it also the history of the world”, highlighted the President while emphasizing that it is a great tradition for the President of Mongolia to award the Supreme Decoration of the Mongolian State, the Order of Chinggis Khaan, to citizens, bands, legal entities, foreign citizens, public and social servants, whose extraordinary deeds made a huge contribution in fulfilling this legacy.


President of Mongolia U.Khurelsukh will make state visit to People’s Republic of China

President of Mongolia U. Khurelsukh will pay a state visit to the People’s Republic of China on November 27-28 at the invitation of his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping.
The President U.Khurelsukh will meet with his Chinese counterpart for official talks over the course of his two-day visit, during which they will also exchange views on matters pertaining to bilateral ties and cooperation. Moreover, the heads of state of the two nations will issue a joint statement regarding the development of the Mongolia-China Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and sign cooperation agreements


Mongolia’s GPD expands 3.7% in first 3 quarters of 2022.

By production approach, Mongolia`s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) totaled MNT 35.2 trillion (over 10.3 billion U.S. dollars) in January- September period, which increased by MNT 5.3 trillion (17.7%) from the same period of the previous year. 
The National Statistics Office reported that GDP at 2015 constant prices decreased by 6.7% in the first nine months of 2020, but increased by 3.7% in the first nine months of 2021 and 2022. In the third quarter of 2022, seasonally adjusted GDP at constant 2015 prices increased by 1.0% compared to the previous quarter. The increase was mainly attributed to significant growth of the agricultural and mining sectors, Erdene-Ochir Myagmarkhand, a senior expert of the NSO said in a statement. In particular, to a 3.7% increase in GDP at 2015 constant prices in January- September, the agriculture sector contributed 1.6 percentage points, the mining and quarrying sector contributed -2.3 percentage points, the industry and construction sectors contributed 0.3 percentage points, the service sector contributed 2.4 percentage points and net taxes on products contributed 1.7 percentage points.
