The ceremony to sign an annual air service agreement between the governments of Mongolia and Turkey was held in Istanbul, Turkey. By signing the agreement Mongolian and Turkish airlines will fly to Ulaanbaatar-Istanbul route 7 times a week, Ankara and Antalya 5 times a week. During the ceremony, state owned MIAT Mongolian Airlines signed a codeshare agreement with Turkish Airlines. After establishing codeshare agreement with Turkish Airlines, passengers of MIAT can fly to the Amsterdam, Barcelona, Brussels, Rome, Frankfurt, Washington, Chicago, Vienna, Warsaw, Zurich with own airline designator and flight number. After signing the Open Sky agreement with the United States, 5 cities will be available. Moreover, codesharing agreement will be implemented for cargo flights. For the Turkish Airlines, MIAT will provide a travel number on Asian routes. By signing these agreements, travelers from Mongolia will buy cheapest tickets to the United States, Europe, and the Middle East via Istanbul.
