The first Mongolia-Canada regional security dialogue between the Institute for Strategic Studies and the Macdonald Laurier Institute was held on the 27th of June, 2022 in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. The Dialogue comprised of representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia, the Institute for strategic studies, the Embassy of Canada to Mongolia, and the Macdonald Laurier Institute.


The dialogue consisted of two sessions, regional security perspectives and bilateral cooperation. In the first session, ISS analyst S.Chandmani and Mr. Jonathtan Bershire Miller from the Macdonald Laurier Institute made a briefing on regional security perspectives, and discussed the current challenges and opportunities in the security domain. In the second session, Deputy director of the ISS J.Mendee,  Former member of Parliament Hon. Bryon Wilfert presented future bilateral cooperation and discussed possible areas and activities to further bilateral relations. During the dialogue, both parties highlighted the importance of the dialogue and expressed their willingness to further strengthen the collaboration by increasing the frequency of meetings.
