On May 20, the Center for Environmental security studies of the Institute for Strategic Studies organized a roundtable discussion on biosecurity in Mongolia.

The participants of the roundtable discussion included representatives of government agencies, scientists and experts working in the field of biosafety and biosecurity in Mongolia, for instance, the Ministry of Environment and Tourism, the National Committee for Biosecurity, the Counter-Terrorism Council of Mongolia, the Ministry of Health, the National Center for Infectious Diseases, the National Center for Zoonotic Diseases, the Institute of Biomedicine of the Mongolian National University of Medical Sciences, the National Center for Public Health, and the Mongolian Academy of Sciences.

The participants were briefed on the current level and challenges of biosecurity in Mongolia, and exchanged views on improving the legal environment for biosecurity and ensuring the coordination of activities in this area.
