Minister of Defense of Mongolia Lieutenant general G. Saikhanbayar paid working visit to the United Arab Emirates on February 19-24, 2023. During the visit, Minister of Defense G. Saikhanbyar hold official talk with Mohammed Ahmed Al-Buardi, State minister for Defense of United Arab Emirates. The ministers discussed cooperation, development of trade, economic and tourism industry and expressed their satisfaction on diplomatic relations between two countries. Two parties mutually agreed on the possibility of developing friendly relations and cooperation, as well as defense cooperation. As a result of meeting, the ministers signed the “Memorandum of Understanding” on defense cooperation between two Ministries.
By signing the “Memorandum of Understanding”, a legal basis for defense cooperation between two countries were formed. The United Arab Emirates is the 39th country where the Ministry of Defense established defense cooperation and military diplomacy.
During the course of visit, Minister G. Saihanbayar participated as an honored guest in the “International Defense Conference” held in Abu Dhabi. This international conference included about 2,800 officials, scientists and researchers from over 80 countries, 24 international organizations operating in the fields of defense industry, security studies. The participants of the conference exchanged views on the current status of technological development, future trends, social and economic impacts, negative consequences of widespread use of technological advances in modern military operations and war, preventive measures, and international cooperation.
In addition, the Minister G. Saikhanbayar visited the 30th annual “IDEX and NAVDEX-2023” defense exhibition.
